Busquets: We hope the fans will always be with the club, not just with the titles
Barcelona defensive midfielder, Sergio Busquets appreciate the crowd support in their 2-1 (4-1 agg) win over Manchester City on Wednesday evening at the Camp Nou to advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and hopes that the fans are here for the long-haul and not just for the trophies.
In his post-match interview with BarcaTV, Busquets spoke about the crowd support and how much they are needed.
“The fans we have are too accustomed to winning. We’d like them to always with the team and not just with the titles. Sometimes we don’t play well and that’s when we need them the most. Our needs are just as important as theirs.”
Busquets then spoke about his former teammate, Yaya Toure.
“It was good to face him again. He was a great teammate. It was weird. Each player fought for their interests. I asked him how everything is going. He’s a great player.”
Busquets concluded by discussing this week’s La Liga match against Osasuna.
“The perfect scenario would be to win and in the quickest way possible, so that there’s no pressure and the fans don’t get nervous.”
