Di Maria: There are finals to be played and this is how we’ll play them

Real Madrid winger, Angel Di Maria was elated following his side’s 4-0 win over Almeria to take advantage of a Barcelona slip and move into second place in the La Liga standings.

In his post-match interview, Di Maria spoke about the resounding win and insists that they need to play every game from here until the end of the season, just the same as they did against Almeria.

“I’m happy with the match.  We didn’t do well against Dortmund and wanted to turn that around.  That game was unusual for us, we didn’t want to do well.  Today we brought joy to the fans and we’ll continue this way.

“Barça? We’re only thinking of ourselves.  We know that La Liga has its ups and downs.  We were down and then went back up, we were down and we went back up again.  We know that everything is a final now and we need to play them like we did today.

“The Copa finals are different games; Barça will go out and give their all.  We will do the work on our end, we are in good form and we must continue.”

Di Maria concluded by stating that he feels comfortable both on the wing and in midfield.

“I feel very comfortable on both sides.  Today, I went up near the penalty area. I wanted to score, it’s been a while since I last did and in the middle, I’m trying to help a little more on defence.”
