Atletico Madrid midfielder, Jose Sosa has been a trusted member of manager Diego Simeone’s squad since arriving from Ukranian side Mestalist this past January and the Argentinean stated that he would love for the club to pick up his purchase option.

In an interview with Radio Marca following Friday’s 2-0 win against Elche, Sosa expressed what it would mean to stay at a club like Atletico Madrid and is hoping that he can help the club achieve their goals this season.

“So far, nothing has been discussed.  I hope I can stay here, it’d be very significant for me to continue.  Due to the moment the club is currently in, now is not the time to talk about it.  After the season, my agent will speak with whoever he needs to speak with and God willing I can stay on.”

Sosa then discussed the win over Elche and the upcoming Champions League final against Chelsea.

“What counts is that we finished how we did today.  The games are going to be difficult, more in the beginning, but the strength of the team is well known and what’s important is that we remain strong until the end.

“Playing in the Champions League is a unique opportunity after so long.  It’s a great opportunity that you just can’t pass up.”
