Barcelona manager, Tata Martino called up 18 players to face Getafe on Saturday evening, but once again, dropped Carles Puyol as the defender has still not been fully cleared to play.

Puyol continues to experience discomfort in the knee that has plauged him for over a year and will limit his minutes, even keeping him out of his farewell match against Atlético Madrid.

However, Puyol is determined to play in his final match in Blaugrana and Martino is optimistic that he will be fit to do so.

“We’ve spoken with him and he really wants to play in the last game. He has the opportunity of saying goodbye to the fans. We’ll see if he can be medically cleared and the injury allows it. It is something that we have in mind.”
