Atlético Madrid forward Raúl García was understandably disappointed about the defeat at Levante, but insisted that their attention is now on their next games.
Raúl García sees one of many Atlético chances, saved by Keylor Navas.
Following the 2-0 defeat at Levante, asked about why his team came unstuck at the Ciutat de Valencia, Raúl García insisted his team will get over the result and look for wins from their last two games of the season, at home against Málaga and away at Barcelona.
“We don’t have to justify anything. We have to think of the next game. We just have to keep going, win our next game and after that, go for it in the last one.”
In the build up to the game, Levante players had seemed motivated to win by the thought of directly affecting the title race, throwing a spanner in the works for Atlético. Raúl García wasn’t interested in responding to such comments, simply acknowledging that their opponents had been the better side on the day.
“I don’t want to get into any of that. They won and they did what they had to do. We played against a team that gave their lives for a result. That’s how they play and we weren’t able to beat them.”
