Bordeaux president denies alleged deal with Zidane
The club president of the French club Bordeaux has denied rumors that have suggested that there is a deal between the club and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane, who is currently Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant coach in the Spanish capital.
It has been rumored that Zidane would be willing to start his own coaching career, but the rumor was ended by the Bordeaux club president Jean-Louis Triaud. “I will not deny that we had numerous contacts. Unfortunately we have not been able to recruit him”, the Bordeaux president said to RTL.
“He is very committed to Real Madrid and we cannot forget that his family is very much adapted in Madrid after 11 years there”, he continued.
Upon speculation about Zidane’s future, Bordeaux was rumored to be one of Zidane’s preferred destinations, not least due to having played in the French club during his playing career. As things stand, however, the club icon is set to stay in Real Madrid.
