Barcelona set to rival Juventus for Fiorentina’s Juan Guillermo Cuadrado

Barcelona are set to ‘square’ off against Juventus over the transfer of Fiorentina’s versatile Colombian wing-back/full-back Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, as the club sees the 25-year-old as the heir apparent for Dani Alves.

According to Spanish sports daily, AS, Barcelona are leading the charge to sign Cuadrado, even sending a member of the technical staff to see him play even though he was banned for the game, but nevertheless, what they have seen of him has impressed.

Yet, they could face a snag in their attempts to sign the versatile star, as Udienese still retains half of the rights to the player and could complicated matters if Juventus attempt to go directly to the source.

What complicates matters even more, is that Juventus have already begun negotiations, as all clubs involved wish to close the deal before the start of the World Cup.

Therefore, Barcelona will make one final push to steal the goal-scorer out from under the noses of the three-time Scudetto winners.

Could Cuadrado replace Dani Alves at Barcelona?
