The 17-year-old joins the Catalans in a deal expected to be around €2 million and will start his Barca career in the B team.

The move was very nearly cancelled due to Barcelona’s transfer ban which has been suspended for now, but Halilovic expressed his delight at sealing his dream move to Spain,

“This is a great day for me, I’m very happy. I’m a big fan of Barcelona, I have been all my life. I’ve watched Barca B this season and they’ve played great football.”

Known as a playmaker, Halilovic is considered to be one of the hottest young talents in Europe having represented Croatia at various youth levels, and in June 2013 he was given his first senior cap, becoming the youngest débutante in the national team’s history.
