Jackson Martínez agent confirms Valencia interest
Luis Henrique Pompeu, the agent of Colombian striker Jackson Martínez, has confirmed the interest of Valencia, but assures that his client is content with life at FC Porto and isn’t looking to leave.
Following reports in various Spanish media outlets, that backed by the millions of Peter Lim, Valencia are set to make a blockbuster move for highly sought-after striker, Jackson Martínez, his agent has responded to the headlines.
“Valencia may be interested, but they must speak to Porto and it’s up to them to say yes or no.”
Pompeu also pointed out during his interview with Antena 1, that Jackson is currently settled and happy at Porto, despite all the rumoured interest of major clubs throughout Europe.
“Our relationship with Porto is optimal and Jackson isn’t thinking about leaving. He has two years left on his contract and he’s not going to force anything, nor ask for a contract renewal.”
Elsewhere, Pompeu also told Portuguese sports paper O Jogo, that even though reports of a bid were a headline in Valencia based sports paper, Superdeporte, the player is simply focusing on his efforts at the World Cup with Colombia.
“We know that this has been the headline in a Spanish newspaper, but if Valencia or any other club are interested in Jackson, they will have to speak with Porto. We’re calm about all this, Jackson has two years left on his contract. All he wants to do right now, is play well at the World Cup with the Colombian national team.”
