At his press call ahead of the friendly match against El Salvador in Washington DC, Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque explained that Atlético Madrid striker Diego Costa will participate.

“Diego will play, we want to test him and see how he is, as it’s been a while since last he played.”

Regarding everyone else in the squad, Del Bosque also assured that they’re all fit, healthy and ready to play.

“Those who had some slight injury problems, have all recovered. As such, we’re very happy with everyone.”

With the options at his disposal, offering depth in all areas of the pitch, Del Bosque is content with the players available, even though a constant worry is always likely to be their fitness.

“We have plenty of options… Costa or Torres… Silva or Cazorla… What interests us most of all, is that they’re all in their best physical condition.”

For the game against El Salvador, one thing Del Bosque was keen to explain, is that those who arrived late to the squad and couldn’t participate against Bolivia, due to their Champions League final appearances, will all get a chance to play.

“Tomorrow we’re going to focus on giving minutes to the players who joined up later with the team. We know the differences we have in our team and nobody will be left waiting.”
