Atlético Madrid agree to loan Óliver Torres to FC Porto
Atlético Madrid and FC Porto have reportedly reached a full agreement, which will see talented young midfielder, Óliver Torres, head to the Portuguese club for a season-long loan.
Very much a highly regarded player for the future at Atlético Madrid, 19-year-old midfielder Óliver Torres needs plenty of regular first-team action, to continue his development. A loan period with Villarreal during the second half of last season, helped towards that end and with the possibility of playing time limited at the Calderón next season, Los Colchoneros are keen to send him out to gain further experience.
According to Marca, there is a total agreement between Atlético Madrid and FC Porto, with the Portuguese side keen to take the midfielder on loan for the 2014-2015 season, providing he’s willing to join.
That shouldn’t be an issue however, with former Spain Under-21 coach Julen Lopetegui at the helm of the Portuguese club, who is a huge admirer of what Óliver can offer his team. Indeed, it is suggested that Lopetegui specifically requested moving for the Atlético youngster, as a priority amongst a variety of transfer moves this summer at FC Porto.
There is no suggestion however that any permanent move would result from a further loan move for Óliver, as he is a player who Atlético Madrid very much wish to retain, but feel that the opportunity to play regularly with another large European club, who are also competing in continental competition, will provide further valuable experience.
