Arsenal to reportedly make €28.5m bid for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a €28.5 million bid for Real Madrid defensive midfielder, Sami Khedira, in the hope that not only would they get a world-class playmaker, but also provide further support for Mesut Özil, on and off the pitch.
According to AS via The Sun, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has personally requested the services of the German international who they feel will boost the confidence and morale of last season’s €50 million signing from Real Madrid.
However, the Gunners could face stiff competition from fellow English sides, Manchester United and Chelsea, who have also expressed interest in the player throughout the past year.
Khedira’s devastating injury kept him out of action for the majority of the regular season, which saw Real Madrid rally and realise that they could live without him as the tandem of Xabi Alonso and Luka Modric solidified the midfield and not only won the Copa del Rey, but the Champions League as well.
Khedira has openly stated in the past that he doesn’t feel valued by the fans and could be open to a move now that he has shown that he’s fully fit.
