Barcelona and Liverpool to hold Luis Suarez talks in London on Wednesday
Barcelona and Liverpool will finally have a face to face meeting in London on Wednesday to discuss the transfer of beleaguered Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez.
According to Spanish sports daily, AS, the urgency of the stalks is spurred by Barcelona’s desire to buy and Liverpool’s equal desire to sell, following countless on-field incidents that have forced the English club to finally realise that ‘the juice isn’t always worth the squeeze,’ so to speak.
Liverpool CEO, Ian Ayre will lead the talks with Barcelona, who will be represented by Raúl Sanllehí, who played an invaluable role in the negotiations for Neymar this past summer.
Ayre is expected to ask for €70 million for the reigning English Premier League Player of the Year’s services, while Barcelona are hoping to get a cut-rate due to Liverpool’s desire to part company with the problematic 27-year-old.
At the meeting, Liverpool are also expected to discuss the possible transfer for Barcelona’s Chilean star, Alexis Sanchez, among other fringe players.
