Real Madrid and AS Monaco negotiating transfer of Radamel Falcao
Real Madrid and AS Monaco are reportedly deep in negotiations over the transfer of Colombian international striker, Radamel Falcao.
According to French sports daily, L’Equipe, Real Madrid and Monaco”have entered a very serious point in negotiations and Monaco are preparing for the Colombian’s exit.”
The report goes on to add that Real Madrid are unwilling to meet the €45 million paid by Monaco last summer, but Falcao, despite signing a five-year deal that paid him €14 million per season, inserted a clause into his contract that stated that Monaco were obligated to negotiate should Real Madrid come calling.
The report further added that while they are currently in negations, per Falcao’s request, Real Madrid may hold off on finalising the transfer of the player until December, so that they can observe how his surgically repaired knee is holding up under constant strain, which includes the French Ligue 1 and the Champions League, which would leave him cup tied.
Real Madrid’s injury concerns were lessened following the announcement by physiotherapist, Joaquin Juan, who confirmed to Spanish sports daily, AS that Falcao’s knee is perfect.
“The knee is perfect, it’s in spectacular shape. He has a powerful physique and he regenerates the tissues very quickly.”
Falcao, who just completed his second training session with Monaco, remained coy on the speculation, simply stating that “I’m fit and that pleases me…”
Falcao is reportedly convinced that he will join Real Madrid this summer, but the club looks to retain the services of Karim Benzema and have the two work together.
