Juventus midfielder Fausto Rossi, who spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid, has revealed that Sevilla sporting director Monchi has held negotiations with his agent.

Clear that he won’t feature for Juventus, 23-year-old Italian midfielder Fausto Rossi has already mentioned interest from Villarreal, amongst a number of La Liga clubs, indicating that he’s also keen to make a return to La Liga, following his spell on loan at Real Valladolid last season.

Juventus recently lowered their asking price for the player, in order to make a move for Rossi more appetising to clubs expressing their interest, seemingly preferring a sale to another loan.

Now it appears that one of the interested La Liga clubs is taking their next steps, looking to solidify a proposed move and speaking Italian website Calciomercato, Rossi confirmed that it’s Sevilla who have made contact with his agent.

“My agent has spoken a number of times with the sporting director of the Andaluz club, Monchi, who I know was already following me whilst I was playing for Real Valladolid. Right now, Sevilla is a possibility for me, if we can make things concrete. We’re working to find the best resolution.”

An international at junior levels for Italy, although he’s never featured in the Juventus first-team, Rossi has spent two seasons on loan with Vicenza in Serie B, followed by another two at Brescia, also in Serie B. This was then followed by a strong season of performances personally with Real Valladolid last season, despite their relegation from the Primera.

Given that the player has now directly mentioned Villarreal and Sevilla as being amongst the La Liga clubs chasing his signature, he has further indicated that it’s the Andaluz club that might be his preferred destination.

“I’ve said plenty of times that I’d like to stay in Spain. When important teams like Sevilla are interested in me, that makes me doubly satisfied.”
