Real Madrid officially announce Fernando Hierro as new assistant manager

Real Madrid have officially named former defender, Fernando Hierro has the new assistant manager under manager Carlo Ancelotti, replacing former assistant Zinedine Zidane, who was named new manager Real Madrid Castilla several weeks ago.


In a brief statement on the club’s website on Thursday evening, Real Madrid confirmed the appointment of the former Spanish international and Malaga sporting director.

Real Madrid C. F. announce the appointment of Fernando Hierro as assistant manager to the club’s first team technical staff, to replace Zinedine Zidane.

Hierro spent 14 seasons at Real Madrid before his unceremonious exit in 2003, but the centre-back is considered a club legend having helped the team to five La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies as the club’s captain.
