Isaac Cuenca pens one-year deal with Deportivo La Coruña
Deportivo La Coruña have officially announced the signing of former Barcelona winger Isaac Cuenca on a one-year contract, the same day as the 23-year-old’s contract was rescinded by Barcelona.
It was first reported by Inside Spanish Football late Wednesday evening that Cuenca would be released by his boyhood club with the intention of joining Deportivo on a free transfer.
On Thursday afternoon, Barcelona made the official announcement that Cuenca had been released from his contract, becoming a free agent.
FC Barcelona has informed Isaac Cuenca that he is not in the plans for the first team squad, for technical reasons.
The player, after several days of reflection, has accepted the proposal of the Club and both parties agreed today to rescind his contract which linked him to the Club until 30th of June 2015.
Cuenca was soon after officially announced as the newest player for Deportivo La Coruna and will be joining the newly-promoted Galician side on a one-year contract.
“Isaac Cuenca López (Reus, 27/04/1991) becomes, after being released by F.C. Barcelona, the newest player for Deportivo. The Catalan winger, who has played for Sabadell, Barcelona and Ajax, joins the team on a one-year contract.”
