Wellington Silva was officially presented by Almería at a press conference on Friday, with the 21-year-old keen to make the most of his loan from Arsenal, during the 2014-2015 campaign in La Liga.

“Almería have given me a great opportunity, one that I want to make the most of. I’ve already been with Levante in the Primera, but I was much younger then. Now I have more experience and know Spanish football better, having played here for more than three years.”

Given his difficulties obtaining a work permit to play for Arsenal, Silva hopes that a good season with Almería may lead to a permanent move to La Liga.

“My dream is to make a success of things here and perhaps stay. To do that I’ll have to have a really good season.”

Silva clearly believes he has the talent and capability to succeed, whilst is thankful for the opportunity to demonstrate his range of talents, with Almería.

“I hope to adapt to the team as quickly as possible, so I can demonstrate my full potential for the good of Almería, who I want to thank for the great interest they’ve shown in me. I hope it’s a great season for me and for Almería.”

Finally, Silva was asked to describe himself and his abilities, whilst also signalling that he still has plenty to learn from the experienced players at the club.

“I’m quick and skilful. I can play on both wings, although I can also play in the middle. Corona and Soriano are the most senior players here and I have no doubts, they will help show me how things are here. I’ve got plenty to learn from them.”
