After announcing the transfer of Yoel from Celta Vigo on Thursday morning, Valencia confirmed the transfer of Guaita, who will compete for the starting job at Getafe.

“Valencia has reached an agreement with Getafe over the transfer of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. The club will maintain a percentage of his economic rights and the right of first refusal on a future sale.

“Valencia would like to wish him luck in this new stage of his career and especially, recongise the professionalism, involvement and career of Vicente Guaita, demonstrated through his years at the Academy and in the first team of our club.”

Guaita was once linked with moves to Barcelona and other top clubs, but has fallen down the depth chart at the club, giving way to Diego Alves over the past several seasons.
