Sevilla’s Federico Fazio set to join Tottenham

Sevilla captain, Federico Fazio will reportedly travel to London on Friday, where he is expected to make a move to English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotpsur after the club pays the Argentine’s €10 million release clause.

According to reports, Fazio has asked Sevilla’s permission to miss training on Friday morning ahead of Saturday’s La Liga opener against Valencia, in order to finalise the deal.

Sevilla are incensed with Fazio and his agent’s decision to leave the club this late in the transfer window and after just being named club captain after seven years with the club.

Sevilla have informed Tottenham that if they want the 27-year-old, they must pay his full €10 million release clause, which they will reportedly do after losing out on Villarreal’s Mateo Mussachio.

Tottenham are confident they will close the deal in the next 24 hours and if not, Fazio would likely be met with hostility in Sevilla’s match against Valencia on Saturday evening.
