Sevilla’s Federico Fazio reports to Friday’s training dispelling rumours of Tottenham move
Sevilla captain, Federico Fazio has reported to the club’s Friday morning training, dispelling rumours that the Argentine asked to be excused in order to fly to London and complete his €10 million move to English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur.
On Thursday it was reported that Fazio had asked Sevilla’s permission to miss training on Friday morning ahead of Saturday’s La Liga opener against Valencia, in order to finalise the deal.
However, Sevilla made it very clear that the centre-back was at training this morning and subsequently rejected all rumours that Fazio was on his way to White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, Sevilla make their final preparations before the start of the season, that will see Unai Emery’s reinforced squad fight for a Champions League place, while also defending their Europa League title.
For their part, Tottenham will continue looking for another centre-back, as they seem to be out of the running for both Fazio and Villarreal’s Mateo Mussachio, who played for 90 minutes in the Yellow Submarine’s 0-3 Europa League qualifying victory over Astana.
