Barcelona youth product, Sandro was the lone goal-scorer in his side’s 0-1 winner over Villarreal on Sunday evening and praised his manager for relying and keeping faith in the club’s famous youth system.

In his post-match interview, Sandro spoke about his first Primera goal and thanked Luis Enrique for giving him the chance.

“Personally, I’m happy but especially because of the work of the team.  Thanks to Leo, I scored the winning goal.  Messi and Neymar are two great players, but this is done to work of the entire team and we leave happy.

“I dedicate the goal to my family and the incredible manager.  He relies on the youth system and today it has come around with a winning goal, for a win that is very important for us.”

Sandro featured several times throughout the pre-season and on Sunday, the 19-year-old from Las Palmas made his Primera debut and sealed it with a winning goal.
