Barcelona has unveiled their new kit for the 2012-2013, which has become a point of polarizing between Barcelona and La Liga fans alike.

The new design by Nike features a take on the traditional striped design, with one singular red stripe down the middle, fading into the traditional blue.

This year’s kit features a dark blue tone than previous seasons and the lettering is said to be inspired by Catalan architecture, with the red collar and sleeves carrying the design of the Catalan flag.

Club president Sandro Rosell was at the unveiling, which was held at Barcelona’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

“As always, some people will like the shirt more than others.

“It will create admirers and critics, but in the end we’ll all end up loving it which is always what happens in the end.

“Personally, I think it’s great, and another wonderful surprise from Nike, who never stop thrilling us with their designs, and I think everyone will really like it.

“For me, it’s the best we’ve had in the last fifteen years,” said Rosell.
