Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has insisted the reports he does not get on with Real Madrid and Spanish team-mate Sergio Ramos are not true.

Media reports has been rife that a bust up between the two occured when Barcelona and Real Madrid met throughout the season, however Pique insisted their is no truth in the report but admitted tension between the clubs.

“I get on fine with Sergio Ramos,”he told reporters. “There was a lot of tension between the two teams [Barcelona and Real Madrid].”

“We know where we’re headed at this European Championships and I feel proud to form part of the team and I am very happy to be playing beside Sergio,” he continued.

“I have a good understanding with him as I do with Raul Albiol,” and Javi Martinez, who can also both play in this position.

“Maybe I’ll have to work a bit more with Sergio but given his quality it’s very easy to play alongside him.”

Spain face Italy in their first group game of the tournament on Sunday evening.
