Dani Alves to honour contract at Barcelona
Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has dismissed any suggestions he may leave Camp Nou this summer and expects to see out the remaining four years of his contract with the club.
The 29-year-old Brazilian international signed a new contract at Barcelona last summer to keep him at the club until 2016 but after interest from several clubs towards the latter part of the season, reports of him leaving have grown.
However, the former Sevilla man dismissed suggestions he could leave and stated his desire to remain with the Catalan giants.
“I have a contract until 2016 and I intend to fulfil it, I’m happy in Barcelona. A lot of things get said but they are only rumours,” he told Globoesporte.
Alves had suffered from some behaviour issues last season but after being praised by outgoing coach Pep Guardiola towards the end of last season, it now seems the Brazilian will stay with the club.
Reports of a move to big-spending French club Paris Saint-Germain were also dismissed yesterday [Wednesday] by club president Sandro Rosell.
