Real Madrid playmaker Kaka will quit the club this summer, according to the president of his former club Sao Paulo.

The Brazilian began his career with Sao Paulo before moving to Italian giants AC Milan in 2003 and although it appeared he would stay with Milan for his entire a career, a shock move to Real Madrid followed in 2009.

His time with the reigning La Liga champions has not been impressive, with limited appearance due to injury and Jose Mourinho’s decision-making, Kaka has found playing time hard to come by.

Paulo de Jesus Lopes, the president of Sao Paulo who is good contact with Kaka, believes that the 30-year-old has told Mourinho and Real Madrid hierarchy that he will quit this summer.

“Kaka has decided to quit Madrid,” he told O Globo in Brazil. “He believes that England or remaining in Spain would be two interesting destinations for him.

“Sao Paulo can’t afford him as his price-tag is astronomical and out of the reality of Brazilian football.”

Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have all been linked to Kaka in the past and the news of his situation will trigger possible bids from all four clubs.
