Real Madrid have made their first move of the summer transfer window, signing winger, Alvaro Morata from their own Real Madrid Castilla.

Manager Jose Mourinho has deemed the 19-year-old worth of a spot on the 25-man, star-studded roster for the 2012-2013 La Liga title defense campaign.

While the move has been agreed upon, but not officially announced, the technical staff and Mourinho both feel he is ready to be promoted to the first team.

Morata has been praised for his versatility, proving with the Real Madrid reserve team, that he is capable of playing both on the wing, as an attacking midfielder, a second forward, or striker, which is his natural position of choice.

Mourinho has been a fan of Morata since the Portuguese boss came to Real Madrid, even taking the winger to Los Angeles on their US summer tour in 2010.

Morata scored 17 goals to help Real Madrid Castilla to promotion to the Segunda Division next season.
