Leo Messi Copa del Rey final goal vs Athletic Bilbao

Barcelona’s Leo Messi has had every superlative in the dictionary to describe his incredible talents on the pitch and with his opening goal in the blaugrana’s Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao, there are no more words left to describe how one man was able to run through the entire Basque defense and score.

In the 20th minute, Messi took the ball on the wing, dribbled past three defenders, stopped turned direction, dribbled past a few more and fired a shot that had no business being as accurate as it was and found a gap the size of Dani Alves’ tuft of hair to put his side up 1-0 en route to an historic Copa del Rey win.

Neymar would later score to give the blaugrana a 0-2 lead going into the break but the highlight of this final and possibly the treble, will be Messi’s incredible footwork a year after everyone said his better days were behind him.
