Spanish fans want Pedro as ‘false 9′

Spanish football fans have been voted in a poll ran by AS.com on the team they would like to see play France on Tuesday night, with Pedro Rodriguez the favourite to play in the ‘false 9′ role.

Barcelona winger Pedro scored a hat-trick against Belarus last Friday night in the 4-0 victory and readers of the AS have voted for the Tenerife born star to play in the ‘false 9′ role on Tuesday night.

Readers also voted in favour of seeing Xabi Alonso and Sergio Busquets partnering each other in midfield once more after the latter played at centre-back in Minsk.

The vote shows that readers would rather coach Vicente del Bosque chose Bayern Munich’s Javi Martinez at centre-back over Raul Albiol and that Cesc Fabregas is still unconvincing in the ‘false 9′ role.

Ideal starting line-up as voted for by readers of AS.com

Iker Casillas; Álvaro Arbeloa, Javi Martínez, Sergio Ramos, Jordi Alba; Sergio Busquets, Xabi Alonso; David Silva, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Pedro Rodríguez
