Rayo Vallecano 3-2 Celta Vigo: Late Piti penalty downs ten-man Celta

Rayo Vallecano came from two goals down to beat Celta Vigo 3-2 on Saturday afternoon with the visitors reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Gustavo Cabral.

The Galician visitors went ahead as early as the 12th minute when prolific striker Iago Aspas latched on to Alex Lopez’s cross to tap in from close range and Paco Herrera’s side soon doubled the advantage before the interval.

Once again it was Aspas who would find the net when he finished off a superb through ball from Danish midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli.

However, Rayo Vallecano would have something to cheer about moments later when the visitors had Gustavo Cabral sent off for a second bookable offence.

The home side then began a sensational comeback in the last half-hour of the game, first Leo Baptistao headed home Jose Casado’s cross and that was followed by Tito, who headed in from just yards out.

The winner came with eight minutes remaining as Inside Spanish Football’s Player of the Week for Round 10 Piti made no mistake from the penalty spot after Andres Tunez fouled Andrija Delibasic.
