Vilanova: Messi and Villa get on perfectly

Barcelona manager, Tito Vilanova was quick dispel any rumours that the tension between strikers, David Villa and Leo Messi continues to grow, following another on field bust-up between the two stars in last Tuesday`s loss to Celtic Glasgow in Champions League play, stating the two get on perfectly and that these things happen between two competitive players.

In his pre-match press conference, Vilanova addressed the bust-up but shifted the focus on Sunday`s opponent, Mallorca.

“I know what the relationship is between them. As far as I know, they get along very well. Arguing with someone in the heat of the moment is normal, it happens at every club.”

The Catalan then discussed the loss to Celtic and reiterated that Barcelona will not change their style of play over one loss.

“It’s not the first time that a team has played curled up in front of their own goal. Others had already done it before them. Simply, most of the time, Barca win anyway.”

Vilanova concluded by discussing Mallorca and their manager, Joaquin Caparros.

“(Joaquin) Caparros was the first to come and press high against Barca. He would do it with Athletic Bilbao. It will not be a straightforward match.”
