Celta Vigo 1-1 Mallorca: Park Chu-Young goal cancels out Hemed opener

by Staff Writer | Posted on Sunday, November 18th, 2012

Mallorca battled hard to draw 1-1 with Celta Vigo on Sunday afternoon at Balaidos Stadium.

Both side’s went into the game in the lower half of the table but it was the home side who many favoured given Mallorca’s run of seven games without a win.

However it was the Islanders who started the game better and prolific striker Tomer Hemed opened the scoring when he volleyed home his seventh league goal this season.

Celta were unable to turn the game around in the first half and went into the dressing room behind.

However whatever Paco Herrera told his players during the break seemed to work as they came out more spirited.

Korean striker Park Chu-Young levelled things up on the hour mark but it would have been harsh on the visitors had Celta gone on to win.
