Irarragori: There has been no formal offer for Oribe Peralta by Espanyol

Santos Laguna president, Alejandro Irarragorri has refuted rumours that Espanyol have made inquiries into acquiring striker, Oribe Peralta.

In a recent press conference, Irarragorri insisted that there has been no contact with the Catalan side, after former Mexican national and current Espanyol manager, Javier Aguierre stated that he would love to have the Mexican international join his squad.

“Prestigious clubs should not speak of this to the media, at this time there has been no approach by Espanyol.”

Aguirre could make a move for Peralta when the transfer window opens in January, as Espanyol have struggled to produce sufficient goals, relying on their defense to produce turnovers that lead to counter attacks, with only Inter Milan loanee,  Samuele Longo showing any consistency in front of the goal, with just three goals in nine appearances for the Catalans this season.
