Puyol eager to face Milan

by Staff Writer | Posted on Thursday, December 6th, 2012

Barcelona defender Carles Puyol is hoping to meet AC Milan in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The Catalan side drew 0-0 with Benfica on Wednesday night to top the group and qualify as a seeded team for the Last 16 and they could face any of Shakhtar, Arsenal, Porto, Galatasaray or AC Milan with Puyol preferring the latter.

“I do not mind who our next rival is,” Puyol told reporters. “(But) you know that I like to play against (AC) Milan, because I admire that team.”

Barca have met Milan four times in the Champions League last season, twice in the Group stages and twice in the quarter-finals, which Barca won.

The draw for the next round of the competition is on December 20th.
