Celta Vigo v Real betisIt took a little while for the game to get going, but when it did, Varas in the Celta Vigo was comfortably able to hold on to efforts from Real Betis after the twenty-minute mark.

After the half-hour mark, Chu-Young had a chance for the home side, but a poor effort at goal was easily dealt with by Adrián.

As the half drew to a close, it was Aspas who had the best chance. Beating the Betis defence, his shot went just past the post. The first-half done, neither side merited a lead with little created.

The second-half was a little more lively as the action resumed, with Betis pushing forward. Castro fired over and Salva Sevilla had a shot well saved by Varas.

On the hour mark, Varas again stopped the visitors from opening the scoring.

As play switched from end to end, Aspas and Bermejo came close for Celta Vigo, then at the other end, a Castro header was blocked, then Varas was again on hand, this time preventing a Molino effort.

Heading to the final stages of the game, it looked like neither team were going to find a winner.

Pepe Mel made his final substitution of the night though and barely a moment later, Real Betis took the lead. A cross from Nacho and a great low finish on the turn from Molina, with Varas unable to stop them this time.

Celta Vigo almost got straight back on level terms, but unbelievably, Fernández managed to put the ball over the crossbar from inside the six-yard box. Right on the 90th minute, Adrían saved the points for the visitors, with an excellent save from Túñez.

Finally, deep into injury time, Bermejo wasted a great chance to tie the game, with just Adrián to beat, but hit the post instead.

A slow first-half of action, with the second-half coming to life more towards the end of the game. Real Betis nicked the points, whilst Celta Vigo will have wished for more cutting edge.
