The Italian giants favourites to land the Real Madrid defender, but Deportivo are looking to the help of agent Jorge Mendes.

carvalhoReports from Italy suggest that AC Milan are set to make a January transfer bid, to take the unsettled Portuguese defender away from Real Madrid. Whilst it’s already known that Carvalho looked for a way out during the summer, without success, it’s now clearer that he’s looking for an exit as soon as possible.

Having sold Thaigo Silva to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer, AC Milan have intensified their interest in Carvalho, with reports in Italy suggesting they are keen to bolster their defence with experience, alongside French defender Philippe Mexès.

Meanwhile in Galicia, even with the club mired in financial difficulties, Deportivo La Coruña President Augusto César Lendoiro, has sought the help and advice of Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, to explore the possibility of a move. Whilst the financially stricken club could never hope to match the salary Carvalho currently earns at Real Madrid, Jorge Mendes has been heavily involved in facilitating moves for other Portuguese players to the club this season.
