Injuries has not dampened the expectations placed on this technically gifted midfielder, Sergio Canales is at number 8 on the Top 50 Spanish Youngsters list.

02 spain 2Canales has been garnering attention for quite some time now and feels as if he’s been hyped up for so long, yet he’s still only 21 years old.

Having burst onto the scene with his hometown club Racing Santander as an 18-year old, an ultimately-unsuccessful move to giants Real Madrid in 2010 was followed by a loan to Valencia.

However, after a slew of knee injuries, he is permanently in Valencia, where he has yet to play this year.

When Canales is healthy, his technical abilities are simply top-notch.

With a magical left foot, he can pass the ball expertly; he is a genuinely classy player.
