Recio joins Granada on loan from Málaga

Granada CF tonight completed the loan signing of Málaga CF midfielder José Luis García del Pozo – ‘Recio’.

Recio signs for Granada CFAhead of further activity expected during the January transfer window, Granada CF have now completed the first move to strengthen their squad.

As we reported previously, Granada CF were in negotiations for a number of players at neighbouring Málaga CF recently. The most likely of those to complete a move, being midfielder Recio.

With the two clubs having reached an agreement on the terms of the move, Recio tonight put pen to paper at the offices of Granada CF with director David Navarro. This seals a deal that will see him play for the Granadino club until the end of the season. This followed a medical and an opportunity to meet with his new team-mates, earlier today.

21 years-old, Recio has already featured for the Spanish U20 and U21 teams. He is also seen as one of a number of promising young players, breaking their way into first-team football in the Spanish game. The player is hoping that the loan move will offer him more minutes on the pitch and continue to aid his progress. For their part, Granada are happy that they have an additional and creative option in midfield.

A press conference has been called at Nuevo Los Cármenes, where Recio will be officially presented, in front of the media.
