His father is currently suffering from a serious eye problem back in Africa and his mother is working full-time trying to feed her family.

However, it seems Valladolid have now given Pape and his family the chance they need by offering him a future at the club.

Chema Aragon of EuroFinanzas Sport company who represents Pape found the youngster three years ago and he told Marca of Pape’s ability.

“I travel once a year. During the first trip we prepared several parties to observe about 200 kids, it so happened that the academy Pape had three teams and the first game we saw, one of the players was him.

“We were very impressed, we stayed several days and although we brought four, he was the player who had clearer because it also had the advantage of age.

“We saw that working in Spain and with a proper diet, and then his legs were two sticks, could have a greater projection.”
