Espanyol sporting director, Oscar Perarnau has recently admitted that the club is very interested in signing Parma’s Colombian striker, Dorlan Pabon.

“We want to sign Pabon, but it will not be an easy process considering there are many teams interested in him. However, we are in pole position.”

The 24-year-old signed a five-year contract with Parma on a €4 million transfer from Colombian side Atletico Nacional last summer.

However, Pabon has struggled to adjust to the style of Italian football, making just 12 apperances in league play, with his lone goal being scored against Catania in the Coppa Italia.

Espanyol are desperate for goals, and after sending Samuele Longo back to Inter Milan, they are hoping Pabon will help keep the Catalan side in the top flight.
