According to British newspaper, the Sunday Express, Torres has told sources that he is desperate to return to the Vicente Calderon, as he is unable to recapture the goal-scoring prowess that made him one of the most coveted strikers in the world while at Liverpool.
“Atletico lover Fernando and Fernando loves Atletico,” one source is quoted as saying.
Torres feels that he can recapture his former form, if he were to return to the club, whose fans still treat him as a superstar with unwavering faith and love.
The report goes on to say that with the arrival of Demba Ba from Newcastle United and Romelu Lukaku returning from his successful loan spell with West Bromwich Albion, Torres is seeing the window close on his time at Stamford Bridge, despite three years remaining on his contract.
The Blues fans have made it known that they have lost complete faith in Torres, and although he has clubs such as Paris Saint Germain, Monaco, Juventus and Besiktas all expressing interest, his dream is to return to Atletico Madrid.
