At his formal presentation, Piazon is excited to join the Champions League side and looks forward to the opportunity to grow and help the Andalusians achieve success both domestically and internationally.
“Malaga are in good form. I decided to come to Malaga not only because it is a great club, but I was promised that it would be beneficial for me and I would be very happy here.
“I saw the team play very well at the Camp Nou. It was a good game offensively and defensively. They managed to score a goal with a man down, it was a great result.”
Piazon then stated that he is flattered that people compare him to his compatriot, Kaka and which position he feels more comfortable in.
“It’s normal [to draw comparisons with Kaka] because I played in the city of Sao Paulo, as did Kaka. The press always compares me [with him] and calls me the new Kaka or Robinho, and for me there’s nothing wrong with that.
“I can play on the left or right wing and as a midfielder, I have no preference. I hope to play; I spoke with Pellegrini for five minutes on Tuesday. My goal is to help the team.
“Julio Baptista, before I came here, spoke very highly of Malaga to the Brazilian press and he’s helped me in training and helped me learn about the club. For me, it helps to have players that speak Portuguese to help me day by day.”
