Diego Mainz signs new 3 year deal at Granada CF

Central defender Diego Mainz signs a permanent deal with the club.

Diego Mainz contract renewalGranada CF today announced that they have reached an agreement for central defender Diego Mainz to remain at the club for three more years, on a permanent basis.

Mainz is currently in his fourth season on-loan at Granada from Udinese, having first joined when they were in the Segunda B4. Part of the squad that won consecutive promotions to the Primera, Mainz is one of the club captains and seen as a key member of the squad.

“For some time there’s been interest from the club and from myself, to stay here in Granada.” Said Mainz, following morning training on Wednesday. “We’ve reached an agreement for me to stay three more years and I’m delighted.”

Mainz also indicated that there was never really any doubts where he saw his future.

“It was an easy decision for me. I’m very enthusiastic about staying in Granada and at this club, where I feel wanted and valued.”

Udinese released Mainz from his ties with them, permitting the negotiations to proceed freely with Granada.
