Barcelona defensive midfielder, Jonathan Dos Santos will leave the club and join Champions League bound Real Sociedad on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The Mexican International has been adamant in his desire to remain at the club and fight for a chance on the team, but it has become clear that his future lies elsewhere and has agreed to join the Basque side as a replacement to now Real Madrid defensive midfielder, Asier Illarramendi.
The deal has been agreed upon with the official announcement expected this afternoon by Real Sociedad president, Joakin Aperribay at the presentation of Haris Seferovic Wednesday afternoon.
Dos Santos will be reunited with friend and fellow Mexican international, Carlos Vela, who joined the club through a similar buyback option from Arsenal last summer, after a successful loan spell during the 2011-12 season.
Dos Santos becomes the sixth La Masia product to leave the club this summer, joining Marc Muniesa (Stoke City), Bojan (Ajax), Rafinha and Andreu Fontas (Celta Vigo) and Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich).
