OFFICIAL: Sevilla complete transfer of Alvaro Negredo to Manchester City

Sevilla have completed the €28 million transfer of striker Alvaro Negredo to Manchester City, with the official confirmation coming in moments from president Jose Maria del Nido.

NegredoThe transfer seemed imminent when Negredo left the team’s pre-season camp in Costa Ballena on Tuesday afternoon and after a total 36 hour negotiation process, the Vallecan striker becomes the replacement for now Juventus forward, Carlos Tevez.

The €28 million fee contains three variables with a €25 million set fee.

Negredo himself has signed a four-year deal for €4.2 million per season and an official farewell announcement is scheduled for 19:30 local time.

“It’s official. Alvaro Negredo is Manchester City’s newest player, pending a successful medical. Sevilla has scheduled a farewell for Negredo at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for 19:30 local time in order for the players to say their goodbyes before leaving on their tour of South America. Sevilla president, Jose Maria del Nido will accompany the player at his farwell [press conference].”

Negredo becomes the sixth major departure from Sevilla this summer; Negredo (25 million), Navas (21 million), Luis Alberto (8 million), Campana (2 million), Luna (2 million), and Spahic (400,000 euros).
