The Spanish Football Federation have announced that they will form a Department of Integrity in a bid to tackle match fixing and fraud in the Spanish game.

National-Team-Of-Spain-2013Last season saw Levante and Deportivo’s La Liga fixture investigated for possible match fixing, as well as a number of Segunda ties and Tercera games that were all subject to betting scams.

The LFP therefore have decided to form a special department that will tackle these issues separately and try to eliminate them from the Spanish game.

A statement read:” Our new department is ready and has been in working order for more than one month, it is working on issues related to match fixing, illegal betting, piracy and illegal broadcast of games.”
