According to Barcelona-based sports daily, Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have reached an agreement with the highly-regarded Martino to take over the role at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Following several days of negotiations, Martino has signed on to lead the Blaugrana, along with his two assistants, Elvio Paolorroso and Jorge Pautasso.

Martino will arrive in Barcelona on Tuesday, but will not accompany the team to Munich, where they will participate in the Audi Cup.

The club is expected to announce the appointment of Martino for the next three years, in a matter of hours

Martino has been touted for his work ethic and style, similar to that of Marcelo Bielsa.

Martino also happens to be from Leo Messi’s hometown of Rosario, and the Argentine international has praised Martino in the past and holds him high regard.
