Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho claimed some of his players believe it to be “impossible to win” at the Camp Nou after another loss to Barcelona left Los Blancos scratching their heads.

Mourinho’s side dominated for a larger period than normal against Barcelona but trailed 2-0 at the break thanks to quickfire goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Dani Alves.

However, Mourinho’s side battled back to level the game but eventually lose on away goals to the Catalans.

The Portuguese coach told reporters in his post-match press conference : “We came here with the intention of going through. We knew it would be difficult, but that is what we came here to do.

“However I have heard in the dressing room it is impossible to win here. I have played here with Chelsea, Inter (Milan) and Madrid various times and this is nothing new.

“I will congratulate Barcelona for what they did at the Bernabeu last week but not for the qualification.”
