Pereira: Granada were interested and they’ve very ambitious
Granada CF presented one of their transfer deadline day arrivals, French winger Michaël Pereira, who completed a loan move from Mallorca.
Granada CF presented 25-year-old French winger Michaël Pereira on Tuesday, with Sporting Director opening the presentation of the player by explaining how the deal happened.
“Pereira joins us on loan, with an option to buy for €1 million. We have been able to produce an advantageous operation for the club, with the loan costing us nothing. Although the signing came in the final hour, we’ve been trying to sign him for the last month and a half.”
Pereira then introduced himself and explained that though he had other options, he was happy to have finally made the move to Granada.
“It was tough waiting until the final day, but I want to thank Quique Pina and Juan Carlos Cordero for showing their commitment to bring me here. I was offered the chance to go to England, but Granada were interested and they’re a very ambitious club that keeps growing. It would have been difficult to turn down this offer, because for me, La Liga is the best league in the world.”
The Frenchman indicated he was looking forward to playing for Granada and helping the team achieve its goals, hinting that he’d be keen to make the move permanent.
“I want to prove myself to the people who have put their faith in me. We’ve waited until the last minute, but I’m very excited. I’m here on loan, but I want to help the team & show that I can stay here for many years.”
