Atlético Madrid negotiating contract extension for Arda Turan
Atletico Madrid are reportedly negotiating a contract extension for Turkish midfielder, Arda Turan, which will keep him at the club until 2017.
According to Spanish sports daily, AS, Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has been in Madrid negotiating the terms of the two-year extension that will not only give the player a raise in salary, but also boost the midfielder’s release clause from €24 million to €40 million.
Despite the constant flow of rumours that Turan is eager to leave the Vicente Calderon for a move to Turkey, he is content with the recent success of the club under manager Diego Simeone, the moves they’ve made this summer and their continued pursuit of forming the highest quality squad they possibly can and has no desire to leave.
The interest from Turkish side, Galatasaray is what prompted the contract negotiations for the 26-year-old, which are thought to be announced next week before the club’s Champions League match against Zenit and to the delight of all the fans, who have grown attached to Turan during his time at the club.
